No, as long as the costume is never drum washed or heat dried. Drum washers crush foam and break glued seams, and heat collapses head padding permanently. Mascots are cleaned by hand in sections and dried flat at room temperature instead. That is slower than a drum cycle, and it is why the head still fits afterwards.
