Salt water, sun cream and sand end up in every swimsuit, cover-up and T-shirt after a day on the Ajman Saray beach. We weigh it all: AED 60 for up to 6kg, AED 99 for up to 12kg, then AED 12 per extra kilo. It comes back washed, dried and folded within 24 hours.

Silk kaftans, an evening dress for dinner at the resort, or a suit for a family occasion. A shirt costs AED 15 to dry clean, a normal dress AED 40, an evening dress AED 65 and a two-piece suit AED 50. Hand it over before 12 pm and it is back the same evening.

Clean clothes that spent the flight folded in a suitcase only need an iron. Shirts are AED 9 on a hanger, trousers AED 12, a dress AED 25 and a kandura AED 12. Everything is pressed, hung and brought back to Ajman Saray within 24 hours.

This one is for people living in the towers around Ajman Marina, not for the resort's own linen. Bed sheets are AED 18, a beach or pool towel AED 6, a pillow case AED 7 and a duvet AED 50. Most items return in a day; big duvets take two.

Sand gets into stitching and salt marks leather. Sandals and espadrilles are AED 45 to clean, trainers and smart shoes AED 55, children's shoes AED 35. We need two to four days, so book them in the first half of your stay at Ajman Saray.

A straw-lined tote that carried towels to the sand, or a clutch for evenings out. Totes, clutches and standard handbags are AED 45 each, a sling bag AED 55 and a small suitcase AED 85. Allow three to five days for the cleaning.

New clothes from the Ajman malls sometimes need a hem taken up, and holiday wear loses buttons. Trouser hems and sleeve shortening are AED 40, a single button AED 15 and a trouser zip AED 40. Plan on two or three days.

For owners and tenants of flats around Ajman Marina only, never for resort furnishings. Regular carpets cost AED 20 per square metre and wool ones AED 26; curtains are AED 20, or AED 25 with blackout lining. Everything returns after three days.

For brides who wore the dress for photos on the Ajman shore, or families here for a wedding. Gowns start at AED 250, beaded ones at AED 450, a veil costs AED 55 and a preservation box AED 210. Allow seven to fourteen days.

For party planners and event firms running children's entertainment along the Ajman beachfront. Small costumes cost AED 200, medium AED 230 and large AED 250, plus AED 30 for each separate accessory. They are returned in three to five days.

A teddy that went into the paddling pool or got dropped in the sand. Small toys cost AED 55, medium ones AED 70 and large ones AED 120. They are washed gently and dried slowly, then back with the family after two or three days.

For apartments near the marina with removable sofa covers. A regular cover is AED 35 and a large one AED 40; cushion covers run from AED 10 to AED 20 depending on size. The set is cleaned and returned in two or three days.

Leather sandals, a belt-bag or the jacket you wore on the plane in winter. A leather jacket is AED 150, a leather coat or blazer AED 130, shoes or boots AED 180, and a wallet or other small item AED 100. Expect three to five days.
