Soft Toy Questions From The Lakes
It starts at AED 55 for a small toy. Medium ones are AED 70 and large AED 120, so size alone sets the price, which covers the hand wash, the long dry and the brush-up. Pickup and return to your villa are free, even for one small toy.
- Palm-sized to pillow-sized counts as small or medium.
- Compare on the Laundrykhalas price list.
Toys come back to your villa in 2 to 3 days. Most of that time is drying, because the filling must be dry to the centre before a toy goes back to bed. If a birthday or trip is coming, mention the date when you book.
- WhatsApp tells you when it is on the way home.
- Returned in its own bag, never mixed.
Probably not, as pool water rinses out with a proper clean. Chlorine and damp can leave a smell and a flat, clumped filling if the toy dries slowly on its own. We rinse it through by hand, dry the centre fully and brush the fur back up.
- Send it soon; do not leave it wet in a bag.
- Tips for parents: soft toy care in the UAE.
We check first and tell you if there is a risk. Each toy is looked over for thin seams, loose eyes and worn fur before any cleaning. If a toy is too fragile, we suggest a surface clean only, or return it untouched, so the choice is always yours.
- Weak seams are noted and reported.
- No machine washing or tumble drying.
Yes, toys with sound boxes can usually be cleaned. Where the unit can be removed, we take it out before cleaning and put it back after drying. If it is sewn in, that section is cleaned from the surface only and kept dry.
- Mention any batteries or sound units when booking.
- A photo on WhatsApp helps us plan.
Old dye bleed, sun fading and worn-through fur are permanent. Cleaning removes dirt, dust and most stains, but it cannot replace colour or rebuild bald patches. We tell you about these before we start, so your expectations match the result.
- Ink and marker may lighten rather than vanish.
- Tears are reported, not repaired, unless you ask.
Yes, families in the surrounding communities book toys the same way. Prices by size, the 2 to 3 day return and free pickup are the same. In apartment towers the toy is usually left at reception rather than a villa door.
- Across the road: teddies from The Greens.
- Next door: toy care in The Views.
Yes, a single pickup can take toys and other items. List everything on WhatsApp and it leaves your villa in the half hour you choose. Each item keeps its own price, and the toys and clothes come back together with nothing added for the drive.
- Bedrooms: Cot Sheets and Duvets.
- Parties: Character Costumes.

Contact usWhat parents say in The Lakes.
"Had a box of playroom toys picked up from The Lakes because it had never actually been washed, and it is softer than it was before. Back in three days, as they said."
via Trustpilot "Compared a few places before choosing and they were honest that the faded patches would stay. That honesty is why I went back."
via Website "My daughter's bear has been slept with for four years and I was too scared to wash it. It came back clean and still soft, and she did not notice anything different about it, which was the whole point."
via Google "We do this every couple of months now because of my son's asthma. They clean the bedding and his two toys together and the difference in his mornings is obvious."
"Big unicorn plush, about a metre tall. Took four days because of the drying, which they told me upfront, and it came back fluffy instead of the flat mess I got from the machine last time."
"They found a loose eye on one of the toys and told me instead of sending it back like that. Small thing, but with a toddler in the house it mattered."
"We sent eleven toys from our nursery playroom. Collected on Sunday, back midweek, all labelled and counted correctly. The batch price was fair for the work."
"A singing elephant with the sound box sewn in. I assumed it was not washable. They cleaned around the unit and it still plays, so I was wrong."
"My mother's teddy from the sixties. They said in advance the faded patches would not improve and not to expect white, and that honesty is why I used them again."
