How Much Does Laundry Cost in Bahrain? A 2026 Price Guide

Ask three laundries in Manama what a week of washing costs and you will get three very different answers, not because one is cheating you, but because they are pricing completely different things. One quotes per kilo, one per item, one a flat bag. Until you know which model you are being quoted, you cannot compare them at all. Here is how pricing actually works in Bahrain, and what a fair number looks like in 2026.

The two pricing models you will meet

Almost every laundry in Bahrain uses one of two systems. Bag or weight pricing covers everyday washing, t-shirts, jeans, towels, bedsheets, kids clothes. Everything goes in together, gets washed, dried and folded, and you pay for the bag rather than counting garments. Per-item pricing covers anything that needs individual attention: a thobe that must be pressed properly, a suit, an abaya, a dress. Each piece is handled, cleaned and finished on its own, so each piece is priced on its own.

The confusion starts when a laundry quotes you a very low bag price and then charges per item for half of what you sent. Ask directly: what goes in the bag, and what gets billed separately?

What a fair bag price looks like

At Laundrykhalas our wash and fold starts at BD 5.000 for a 6 kg bag, with additional weight charged per kilo above that. For most couples that is roughly a week of normal clothes. A family of four usually lands in the 12 kg range. If someone quotes you dramatically less than this, ask what is excluded, bedding and towels are the usual answer, and those are exactly the heavy items you wanted washed.

One number worth knowing: our pickup and delivery is free on orders over BD 3.000, which nearly every bag order clears. A delivery fee bolted onto a cheap headline price is the most common way a quote grows between the phone call and the invoice.

Per-item dry cleaning

Dry cleaning is priced per garment because the work is per garment. A shirt, a thobe, a two-piece suit and a wedding gown involve wildly different amounts of handling, so a single blended rate would either overcharge the shirt or undercharge the gown. Our full price list shows each item individually rather than a vague "from" figure, which is the honest way to publish it.

When you compare quotes, compare the same garment. "Dry cleaning from BD 1.000" is meaningless if the BD 1.000 item is a handkerchief.

The costs that do not appear in the quote

Three things quietly inflate a laundry bill in Bahrain. Re-cleaning: if a stain is not treated properly the first time you pay twice, or you lose the garment. Damage: a thobe pressed at the wrong temperature or an abaya that comes back with a shine on the fabric is a replacement cost, not a laundry cost. Your own time: two hours at a laundromat in August, driving across town twice, is not free just because it is not itemised.

This is why the cheapest quote is often not the cheapest outcome. A laundry that gets it right first time, collects from your door and returns within 24 hours costs less in practice than one that is two hundred fils cheaper per bag.

How to get an accurate quote in one message

Send the laundry three things: roughly how many kilos of everyday clothes, a list of anything that needs individual pressing or dry cleaning, and your area. That is enough for a real number rather than an estimate. You can send exactly that to us on WhatsApp and get a price back before you commit to anything, no account, no minimum, no visit.

The short version

Everyday clothes: pay by the bag, from BD 5.000. Anything structured, delicate or traditional: pay per item, and check the item you actually own on the price list. Confirm whether pickup is free at your order size. And treat a quote that is far below everyone else as a question to ask, not a bargain to grab.
