A 6kg bag of laundry costs QAR 60. Beachwear, t-shirts and everyday clothes are washed, dried, folded and returned to Sharq Village & Spa within 24 hours. Dry cleaning has its own per-item prices, and orders of QAR 30 or more are collected and delivered free.

The National Museum of Qatar and its metro station are under 800 metres away, Stadium 974 about a kilometre, and the Museum of Islamic Art around 2 km along the bay. Plaza Inn Hotel Doha and Gloria Hotel & Suites are both roughly 1.5 km west, on a route our drivers use regularly.
History
A Qatari village on Doha Bay.
Sharq Village & Spa was designed to recall a traditional Qatari village, with a Royal Villa modelled on a sheikh's palace and 174 rooms and suites arranged around courtyards and gardens beside a private beach. Opened in 2006-07 as the Ritz-Carlton's second hotel in Qatar, it now has the National Museum of Qatar and Stadium 974 as neighbours.
- 2006According to Hotel Management Network, the resort opens in October at Ras Abu Aboud, in time for the Doha Asian Games.
- 2007The official opening date in the Qatar Tourism fact sheet is 10 March; Ritz-Carlton announces it as its second property in Qatar.
- 2019The Gold Line metro opens to the public in November, ending at Ras Bu Abboud station near the resort.
- 2022Stadium 974, about a kilometre away, hosts matches of the FIFA World Cup.
