How We Clean Soft Toys in Al Jelaiah

Check and Test

Illustrated soft toy cleaning process, from inspection and colour test through to drying

Seams, fixings and filling are checked, electronics found and dealt with, and the dye colour-tested on a hidden patch. Anything already loose or likely to stay stained is reported before cleaning starts.

Hand Wash and Sanitise

Plush toys being hand-washed in a sink of suds, with clean toys drying on the counter behind

Washed by hand at low temperature in sections, never in a drum, then sanitised through the filling to deal with dust mites and bacteria rather than just the smell.

Dry, Brush and Check

Four plush teddy bears dried and groomed, sitting upright with the fur brushed back up

Air-dried at room temperature until the core of the stuffing is dry, then brushed out along the fur so the pile stands up, and checked over once more before it is packed.

Al Jelaiah Soft Toy Questions

Everything you need to know about our footwear restoration process in Al Jelaiah.

A toucan perched about as tall as a coffee mug is small, QAR 55. One the height of a school bag is QAR 70, and a giant parrot sized bird QAR 120. Al Jelaiah homes pay that for the beak colour test, the hand wash, drying and a brush, and pickup is free.

Colour testing included.

The toucan flies home in 2 to 3 days. A round, heavy body keeps water in its centre, so the bird perches on a rack for as long as that takes. Rainbow beaks can run if they get warm, so heaters stay switched off. Party coming up? Share the date in the chat and we will aim for it.

Bright beaks kept cool.
Return day sent by message.

Toddlers are fine with it. The big beak is soft but heavy, so we tug its seam to the head firmly, then the eyes and the little feet. The toucan is then rinsed in lukewarm water using a textile sanitiser, and it perches on the rack until no damp is left in its round chest.

No perfume.
Beak seam checked.

Some do. Toucans that squawk carry a small sound unit in the chest, which slides out through a short seam and goes back after drying. When there is no opening, the unit is sealed inside a waterproof pouch for the wash. A fragile looking unit means we message you first.

Glued feathers tested.
The squawk stays dry.

Yes, the beak should stay bright and the wings neat. A drum would blur each colour into the next and crumple the wings, so we wash the beak section by section, then the black body. Once dry, the feathers are smoothed down and the wings folded back.

Faded beaks may stay paler.
Honest advice at pickup.

Yes, homes near busy Arab League Street see a lot of fine dust. It drifts onto the toucan's shelf and slowly settles into its stuffing, where dust mites breed. A fabric sanitiser is massaged through the chest and belly, and the bird perches until its centre is dry, so it is clean inside.

Kind to sensitive noses.

Message us on WhatsApp. Tell us your Al Jelaiah compound or block, the hour you are home and attach a picture of the toucan with its beak in view. A set fee and a half hour slot come back for whichever day you choose, and nothing needs installing.

How it works: colourful plush cleaning in Qatar.

Yes, the neighbours around the campuses are covered. Al Duhail lies just north, Umm Lekhba next to it and Al Jerian a short drive away, so toucans and other plush from there ride in our van free, cost the same and fly back after an equal wait. Share your pin to book.

4.6/5 Rating

"My daughter's bear has been slept with for four years and I was too scared to wash it. It came back clean and still soft, and she did not notice anything different about it, which was the whole point."

— Noura Al B.

"We do this every couple of months now because of my son's asthma. They clean the bedding and his two toys together and the difference in his mornings is obvious."

— Deepa R.

"Big unicorn plush, about a metre tall. Took three days because of the drying, which they told me upfront, and it came back fluffy instead of the flat mess I got from the washer last time."

— Tom H.

"They found a loose eye on one of the toys and told me instead of sending it back like that. Small thing, but with a toddler in the house it mattered."

— Mariam Y.

"We sent eleven toys from our nursery playroom. Collected on Sunday, back midweek, all labelled and counted correctly. The batch price was fair for the work."

— Sunita K.

"A singing elephant with the sound box sewn in. I assumed it was not washable. They cleaned around the unit and it still plays, so I was wrong."

— Wesam T.

"My mother's teddy from the sixties. They said in advance the faded patches would not improve and not to expect white, and that honesty is why I used them again."

— Iryna P.
