How We Clean Soft Toys in Al Jerian

Check and Test

Illustrated soft toy cleaning process, from inspection and colour test through to drying

Seams, fixings and filling are checked, electronics found and dealt with, and the dye colour-tested on a hidden patch. Anything already loose or likely to stay stained is reported before cleaning starts.

Hand Wash and Sanitise

Plush toys being hand-washed in a sink of suds, with clean toys drying on the counter behind

Washed by hand at low temperature in sections, never in a drum, then sanitised through the filling to deal with dust mites and bacteria rather than just the smell.

Dry, Brush and Check

Four plush teddy bears dried and groomed, sitting upright with the fur brushed back up

Air-dried at room temperature until the core of the stuffing is dry, then brushed out along the fur so the pile stands up, and checked over once more before it is packed.

Al Jerian Soft Toy Questions

Everything you need to know about our footwear restoration process in Al Jerian.

Axolotls are priced by length. Pencil case sized ones are QAR 55, pillow length ones QAR 70, and huge floor axolotls QAR 120. Al Jerian villas get the van free, and that price pays for rinsing each frill, sanitising, drying and fluffing the gills.

Gill fluffing included.
Rates: our price list.

Axolotls are home in 2 to 3 days. The smooth body dries fairly fast, but the frilly gills hold water at their base, so the toy lies on a rack until every frill is dry. Velvety minky fabric goes shiny near heat, so we never use it. Need it for a sleepover? Tell us when.

Frills dried one by one.
Date by message.

Yes, gentle enough for small children. Those frilly gills are stitched into the head, and we pull each one lightly to make sure it holds, along with the eyes. Each frill is dipped in lukewarm water with a mild fabric sanitiser, and nothing is packed until the whole axolotl is dry.

No perfume.
Every gill tugged.

Rarely. A few axolotls glow softly as night lights, with a battery pack inside the belly that unclips before cleaning and clips back afterwards. If the light is sealed in, a waterproof pouch keeps it safe. Should it look delicate, we ask you first.

Glued smiles tested.
Lights kept dry.

Yes, the gills should stand out like a crown. A drum would flatten them against the head, so the axolotl is washed by hand. Once dry, each frill is teased up with the fingertips and the minky body is smoothed in one direction until it feels velvety again.

Crushed frills only partly recover.
We say so at pickup.

Yes, minky plush attracts dust like a magnet. It clings to the velvety surface first, then creeps down to the padding, where dust mites gather. A textile sanitiser is worked through the body, then the axolotl lies flat until even its thickest part has dried, so it is clean right through.

Good for allergy prone teens.

Yes, Al Duhail is just next door. Wadi Al Banat and Umm Lekhba are close as well, and their homes have axolotls and bears collected without charge, priced the same as here and returned after the same wait. Message a pin to book.

4.6/5 Rating

"My daughter's bear has been slept with for four years and I was too scared to wash it. It came back clean and still soft, and she did not notice anything different about it, which was the whole point."

— Noura Al B.

"We do this every couple of months now because of my son's asthma. They clean the bedding and his two toys together and the difference in his mornings is obvious."

— Deepa R.

"Big unicorn plush, about a metre tall. Took three days because of the drying, which they told me upfront, and it came back fluffy instead of the flat mess I got from the washer last time."

— Tom H.

"They found a loose eye on one of the toys and told me instead of sending it back like that. Small thing, but with a toddler in the house it mattered."

— Mariam Y.

"We sent eleven toys from our nursery playroom. Collected on Sunday, back midweek, all labelled and counted correctly. The batch price was fair for the work."

— Sunita K.

"A singing elephant with the sound box sewn in. I assumed it was not washable. They cleaned around the unit and it still plays, so I was wrong."

— Wesam T.

"My mother's teddy from the sixties. They said in advance the faded patches would not improve and not to expect white, and that honesty is why I used them again."

— Iryna P.
