How We Clean Soft Toys in Qatar University
Check and Test
Seams, fixings and filling are checked, electronics found and dealt with, and the dye colour-tested on a hidden patch. Anything already loose or likely to stay stained is reported before cleaning starts.
Hand Wash and Sanitise
Washed by hand at low temperature in sections, never in a drum, then sanitised through the filling to deal with dust mites and bacteria rather than just the smell.
Dry, Brush and Check
Air-dried at room temperature until the core of the stuffing is dry, then brushed out along the fur so the pile stands up, and checked over once more before it is packed.

Qatar University Soft Toy Questions
Everything you need to know about our footwear restoration process in Qatar University.
A whale small enough for a backpack is QAR 55. A pillow sized whale costs QAR 70, and a huge study cushion whale QAR 120. Students and faculty pay that for the hand rinse, freshening the padding, drying and a brush, and collection from your hall or villa is free.
- Hall pickup included.

Whales are ready in 2 to 3 days. A big cushion soaks up a lot of water, so it lies on a wide rack, turned once, until the middle is dry. We use no heat, so the white belly does not yellow. Exam week approaching? Book early and tell us the date you need it.
- Wide rack drying.
- Return day by message.
Yes, gentle on skin, even for a cushion you sleep on. The stitched eyes and the seam where the tail joins are checked first. Then the whale is dipped in tepid water using a mild sanitiser for textiles and left until the padding is completely dry.
- No perfume.
- Tail seam checked.
Rarely. Whale cushions are usually silent, but a few have a soft light or music unit inside. We remove it through a zip if there is one and return it once dry, or wrap it if it is sewn in. Any doubt and we message you first.
- Glued features tested.
- Units kept dry.
Yes, it should stay plump enough to lean on. A drum would bunch the filling into one end, so the whale is rinsed by hand and patted back into shape as it dries. When ready, the plush is brushed and the tail fin smoothed.
- Flattened padding only partly recovers.
- We say so at pickup.
Yes, a cushion used every night collects a lot. Skin flakes and dust from student rooms work into the padding, which is exactly where dust mites thrive. We massage a fabric sanitiser through the whole cushion and dry it right through, so it is fresh to sleep on again.
- Good for shared rooms.
- Bedding via our Qatar University page.
WhatsApp us from campus. Tell us your hall, villa or building, a time between classes and send a snap of the whale. The cost and a half hour window come back for whichever day suits, and you never need to download anything.
- Message Laundrykhalas.

Yes, Al Tarfa is right beside the campus. Wadi Al Banat and Al Jerian are a few minutes away, and whales and bears from those homes are fetched free, cost the same and return just as quickly. Share your location to book.

"My daughter's bear has been slept with for four years and I was too scared to wash it. It came back clean and still soft, and she did not notice anything different about it, which was the whole point."
via Google "We do this every couple of months now because of my son's asthma. They clean the bedding and his two toys together and the difference in his mornings is obvious."
"Big unicorn plush, about a metre tall. Took three days because of the drying, which they told me upfront, and it came back fluffy instead of the flat mess I got from the washer last time."
via Trustpilot "They found a loose eye on one of the toys and told me instead of sending it back like that. Small thing, but with a toddler in the house it mattered."
"We sent eleven toys from our nursery playroom. Collected on Sunday, back midweek, all labelled and counted correctly. The batch price was fair for the work."
via Website "A singing elephant with the sound box sewn in. I assumed it was not washable. They cleaned around the unit and it still plays, so I was wrong."
"My mother's teddy from the sixties. They said in advance the faded patches would not improve and not to expect white, and that honesty is why I used them again."
