Gym kit, T-shirts, pyjamas and the kids' pool shorts only need a wash, so we weigh them instead of counting. Up to 6kg is AED 60, up to 12kg is AED 99, and every kilo beyond that adds AED 12. It all comes back to Dukes The Palm dried and folded the next day.

A London hotel's guests expect a collar that stands up and a suit that hangs straight, and we press with that standard in mind. It is AED 15 per shirt, AED 18 per pair of trousers, AED 50 for a two-piece suit and AED 60 for three pieces. Pieces collected before noon may return that evening.

Clothes that are clean but came out of the case wrinkled skip the wash altogether. Hanging a pressed shirt costs AED 9; trousers are AED 12, and a dress or a jacket AED 25 each. Send them from Dukes The Palm after breakfast and they are smooth and on hangers by the next day.

Only for things you brought or own, never the hotel's sheets or towels: a child's blanket, a travel duvet, a favourite robe, or linen from a flat near Palm West Beach. A blanket is AED 30 and a robe AED 16. Most pieces return next day; a large duvet takes 48 hours.

Leather shoes packed for the office and trainers that met the sand on the hotel's private beach both deserve attention. Formal pairs and sneakers are AED 55, sandals AED 45 and children's pairs AED 35. The work takes between two and four days, so hand them over early in your stay at Dukes The Palm.

A laptop bag scuffed on the commute, a beach tote marked by sun oil, a case that took a knock on the airport carousel. Briefcases and totes are from AED 45, a crossbody from AED 55, and a small suitcase costs AED 85. Expect them back after three to five days.

Trousers a little long for new shoes, a jacket sleeve to shorten, a dress to take in before a beach ceremony. Most hems, waists and sleeves begin at AED 40, and cutting jeans to length is AED 35. Our tailors need 48 to 72 hours, so mention your deadline in the first message.

Nothing here is meant for a hotel room. Owners and tenants of flats along the Trunk, or of a villa out on the fronds, use it for rugs and drapes. Standard carpet costs AED 20 a square metre and wool AED 26; unlined curtains AED 20 and blackout AED 25 a square metre. Three days.

Weddings at Dukes The Palm can begin on the sand and end in the ballroom, and a gown usually carries traces of both. Standard gowns start at AED 250, beaded ones at AED 450, and veils cost AED 55. Gown care runs seven to fourteen days, so we deliver it to your Dubai home afterwards.

For brand and event crews running a family day, a launch or a show on the Palm. Costumes are priced by size: AED 200 small, AED 230 medium, AED 250 large, plus AED 30 for each accessory. Suits are freshened, deodorised and dried slowly, then back with the team inside five days.

A teddy that joined the lazy river, the beach and every meal is overdue a wash before the flight home. Small toys cost AED 55, mid-sized ones AED 70 and big ones AED 120. We need two or three days, so hand the bear over near the start of the holiday.

For flats you own or rent on the Palm, not the furniture of a hotel suite. Regular sofa covers are AED 35, larger ones AED 40, and cushion covers start from AED 10. Allow two or three days; the covers come back washed and pressed so they slide onto the frame again.

A leather jacket for a cooler winter evening on the terrace or a blazer that caught a drink at the bar needs gentler handling than ordinary dry cleaning. Leather jackets begin at AED 150, while coats and blazers begin at AED 130. Leather is ready after three to five days.
