Your apartment has a washer/dryer, so this is optional. Some families at Cheval Maison still hand us the big weekly load to free up an evening. A 6kg bag is AED 60, 12kg is AED 99, then AED 12 per extra kilo, folded and returned within 24 hours.

This is the job a home machine should never attempt. Suits, blazers, silk blouses and abayas are dry cleaned and pressed: shirts AED 15, a two-piece suit AED 50, a basic abaya AED 18 and a delicate one AED 35. Book before noon and dry cleaning can be back the same day.

Washed your shirts in the apartment but dread the ironing? Send them for pressing alone. A shirt on a hanger is AED 9, trousers AED 12, a dress AED 25 and a basic abaya AED 10. They come back crisp to Cheval Maison within 24 hours.

Apartment linen is the building's business, so this is for bedding you brought yourself: a king duvet from home, a child's blanket, your own robes. A duvet is AED 50, a comforter AED 45 and a large blanket AED 40. Allow 48 hours for large duvets.

No washer is kind to suede or leather. Formal shoes and sneakers are AED 55, sandals AED 45, boots AED 85 and children's shoes AED 35. We clean, condition and shine by hand, and shoes take 2 to 4 days, which is easy when you live at Cheval Maison.

A handbag scuffed on the monorail, a laptop bag marked by coffee, a suitcase grubby from the move. A standard handbag or briefcase is AED 45, an oversized bag AED 55 and a small suitcase AED 85. Bags are cleaned and conditioned in 3 to 5 days.

Moving to Dubai often means new clothes that do not quite fit. Hems, waists and sleeves start at AED 40, a concealed zip is AED 55 and a full resize by one size AED 55. Alterations take 48 to 72 hours, collected from Cheval Maison like any other order.

To be clear, the carpets and curtains in the apartments belong to the building. This service is for a rug you shipped over when relocating, or for villa and apartment owners nearby on the Palm. Regular carpet is AED 20 per sqm, wool AED 26, and both take 3 days.

Invited to a wedding somewhere in Dubai, or just back from your own? A standard gown starts at AED 250, beaded at AED 450, a bridesmaid dress is AED 35 and a three-piece groom suit AED 50. Gowns take 7 to 14 days, and long-stay residents have time to spare.

Mostly for marketing and events staff who live on the Palm and run activations across Dubai. Small costumes are AED 200, medium AED 230 and large AED 250, with each accessory AED 30. Suits are cleaned, deodorised and dried slowly, then returned in 3 to 5 days.

Families in the two- and three-bedroom apartments know a favourite toy can't go in the dryer. Small toys are AED 55, medium AED 70 and large AED 120, washed by hand and dried gently so the stuffing keeps its shape. Allow 2 to 3 days.

Honestly, this suits neighbours more than guests: owners in the Golden Mile buildings and villas on the fronds. The apartment furniture is not yours to send. Regular covers are AED 35, large AED 40 and cushion covers from AED 10, back in 2 to 3 days.

People relocating from Europe often arrive with a leather jacket they now wear twice a year. Leather jackets start from AED 150, coats or blazers from AED 130 and wallets or small goods from AED 100. Each is cleaned and conditioned in 3 to 5 days.
