Laundry & Dry Cleaning at Novotel Dubai Al Barsha.

Kids change outfits three times a day on holiday. Put everyone's clothes in a 12kg bag for AED 99, or a 6kg bag for AED 60 if it is just two of you; extra kilos are AED 12. Novotel Dubai Al Barsha gets it all back folded the next day.

A family dinner or a meeting still needs one good outfit. Dresses are AED 40, kanduras AED 15, saree AED 40, shirts AED 15 and abayas from AED 18. When we collect before noon, the same evening is possible.

Holiday photos look better without creases. Baby items cost AED 5 to press, shirts AED 9, a dress AED 25 and a kandura AED 12. Pressed clothes return to the hotel inside 24 hours.

Not for hotel rooms, which have their own linen, but for families in the Al Barsha villas and flats around the hotel. Sheets cost AED 18, towels AED 6, a comforter AED 45 and a duvet AED 50; most return in a day.

Theme parks and playgrounds are hard on small shoes. A children's pair costs AED 35, adult trainers AED 55 and sandals AED 45. Shoes are returned within two to four days.

A child's school bag before term starts, or a large suitcase after a long trip. School and kids' bags cost AED 40, medium suitcases AED 130 and large ones AED 165, with three to five days needed.

Shopping at Mall of the Emirates often ends with something that needs adjusting. Hems are AED 40 for adults and children alike, a dress waist AED 55 and a kandura length AED 40. Expect 48 to 72 hours.

Aimed at families living in Al Barsha villas and apartments, not hotel guests. A regular carpet costs AED 20 a square metre and wool AED 26. Curtains are AED 20 or AED 25 for blackout, and everything comes back after three days.

For families in Dubai for a wedding season. Gowns start at AED 250, or AED 450 with beading, a sherwani costs AED 70 and a flower girl dress AED 28. Wedding cleaning needs seven to fourteen days.

For party organisers and entertainers who bring characters to children's events across Al Barsha. Mascot cleaning is AED 200, AED 230 or AED 250 by size, with each accessory AED 30. Three to five days.

Every family trip seems to include one teddy that ends up in juice or sand. Small toys are AED 55 to clean, medium AED 70 and big ones AED 120, and they are ready again in two to three days.

Families nearby with children and removable sofa covers know how quickly they mark. Each regular cover costs AED 35, large AED 40, and small cushion covers AED 10, returned in two to three days.

Leather bought on a shopping trip, or a jacket that came along for cooler evenings. Leather jackets cost AED 150, coats AED 130 and small goods such as wallets AED 100. Plan on three to five days.
