Laundry & Dry Cleaning at Sandy Beach Hotel &  Resort.

Snorkelling twice a day means two sets of swimwear, two towels and a dry T-shirt each time. AED 60 covers six kilos, AED 99 twelve, and heavier bags add AED 12 a kilo. It all comes back to Sandy Beach folded inside 24 hours.

A weekend at Sandy Beach rarely needs much dry cleaning, but there is usually one good top or a pair of jeans. A T-shirt is AED 15, jeans AED 18 and a pullover AED 30. Before noon in, back that evening.

Holiday clothes rolled tight in a backpack only need ironing. A polo or T-shirt on a hanger is AED 9, shorts AED 10, jeans AED 12 and a sweater AED 15, returned the following day.

Snorkellers often bring their own quick-dry and beach towels. Each one is AED 6, face and hand towels AED 5. For local homes we also wash bed sheets at AED 18; the resort's own linen stays with the resort.

Trainers worn across the wet sand and sandals soaked in salt water. Sports sneakers are AED 55 a pair, sandals AED 45 and children's shoes AED 35. They take two to four days, so they suit longer stays better than a quick weekend.

The backpack that carried masks, fins and wet towels picks up a smell. A backpack is AED 45 to clean, a duffel or gym bag AED 65 and a kids' bag AED 40, taking three to five days.

Shorts snagged on the rocks or a strap that gave way. Darning a tear is AED 40, a patch AED 40 and a press stud AED 12. Repairs take 48 to 72 hours, so they fit a long weekend.

For families living around Al Aqah and Dibba rather than chalet guests. Regular rugs are AED 20 a square metre and wool AED 26; curtains AED 20, or AED 25 with blackout, back in three days.

For residents of the coast after a family wedding. Standard gowns from AED 250, beaded gowns from AED 450, wedding abayas AED 50 and a flower girl dress AED 28, in seven to fourteen days.

For event teams running beach days on this coast. Mascot suits cost AED 200 small, AED 230 medium and AED 250 large, with accessories at AED 30 each, and are back in three to five days.

Children at the splash pad drag their soft toys through sand and water. A small one costs AED 55, a medium AED 70 and a large AED 120 to clean, back in two to three days.

Sea air and sand get into sofa covers in homes along the beach. We clean regular covers for AED 35, large for AED 40 and cushion covers for AED 10 to AED 20, in two to three days.

A wallet or belt that got splashed, or leather boots worn on the beach. Small leather goods are AED 100 and leather shoes or boots AED 180, cleaned over three to five days.
