History
Qatar's first Crowne Plaza, since 2012.
Trans Orient Establishment signed the Crowne Plaza in 2008 and building began in 2009. It opened on 20 August 2012 as the first Crowne Plaza in Qatar, part of the new Business Park in Doha's banking district, with 288 hotel rooms and suites, 90 resident suites, and a glass-domed Event Centre holding two ballrooms.
- 2008The owner, Trans Orient Establishment, signs the hotel with IHG.
- 2009Construction starts in the middle of the year.
- 2012Opens on 20 August with 378 units, a rooftop pool, a spa and the Event Centre.
- 2017Holiday Inn Doha - The Business Park opens next door in September.
- 2019The Doha Metro Red Line opens, with Al Doha Al Jadeda station close to the hotel.
