How We Clean Soft Toys in Old Al Ghanim

Check and Test

Illustrated soft toy cleaning process, from inspection and colour test through to drying

Seams, fixings and filling are checked, electronics found and dealt with, and the dye colour-tested on a hidden patch. Anything already loose or likely to stay stained is reported before cleaning starts.

Hand Wash and Sanitise

Plush toys being hand-washed in a sink of suds, with clean toys drying on the counter behind

Washed by hand at low temperature in sections, never in a drum, then sanitised through the filling to deal with dust mites and bacteria rather than just the smell.

Dry, Brush and Check

Four plush teddy bears dried and groomed, sitting upright with the fur brushed back up

Air-dried at room temperature until the core of the stuffing is dry, then brushed out along the fur so the pile stands up, and checked over once more before it is packed.

Old Al Ghanim Soft Toy Questions

Everything you need to know about our footwear restoration process in Old Al Ghanim.

Turtle prices go by length. Up to a shoe box long it is QAR 55, up to about half a metre QAR 70, and the giant beanbag sized ones QAR 120. Old Al Ghanim pickups are free, and the fee already includes every stage of the clean, from the first look over to plumping the shell.

One turtle is fine.

Your turtle will be back in 2 to 3 days. Its domed shell is often stuffed tightly, so drying it at the centre with plain room air takes patience. We never add heat. If your child is waiting, let us know and we will give an honest return day.

Shells dry slowly.
Date confirmed in the chat.

Yes, it is kind to little ones. Turtles often wear stitched smiles and felt eyes that toddlers like to suck, so both get a gentle pull test first. Rinsing uses barely warm water with a mild fabric sanitiser, and the shell is dried until nothing damp is left for small mouths.

No perfume.
Felt eyes checked.

Yes, usually. Turtles that glow at night or play ocean sounds keep a unit under the belly, which we unclip before cleaning and refit after. A sewn in unit is bagged and that area kept dry. If there is a real risk, we tell you before starting.

Glued patterns tested.
Lights kept dry.

Yes, the shell should stay domed and the flippers floppy. Spinning flattens shells, so each part is cleaned by hand. After a full dry, the plush is brushed up and the shell plumped back into shape.

Squashed shells only partly recover.
We say so at pickup.

Yes, dense streets mean more dust indoors. It works deep into the stuffing where mites feed. We press sanitiser into the filling and dry it all the way through, so the turtle goes back clean inside as well as out.

Fewer sneezes at night.

WhatsApp is all it takes. Share your Old Al Ghanim building, a pickup hour and two quick photos, top and belly. Back comes the cost plus a half hour arrival window, whichever day you pick, and you never install anything.

The method: the Qatar wide toy service.

Yes, three neighbours sit within a minute or two. Turtles and bears from Al Doha Al Jadeeda, Al Rufaa and Baraht Al Jufairi are collected free, priced the same and returned as quickly. Message your location and we will add you to the next run.

4.6/5 Rating

"My daughter's bear has been slept with for four years and I was too scared to wash it. It came back clean and still soft, and she did not notice anything different about it, which was the whole point."

— Noura Al B.

"We do this every couple of months now because of my son's asthma. They clean the bedding and his two toys together and the difference in his mornings is obvious."

— Deepa R.

"Big unicorn plush, about a metre tall. Took three days because of the drying, which they told me upfront, and it came back fluffy instead of the flat mess I got from the washer last time."

— Tom H.

"They found a loose eye on one of the toys and told me instead of sending it back like that. Small thing, but with a toddler in the house it mattered."

— Mariam Y.

"We sent eleven toys from our nursery playroom. Collected on Sunday, back midweek, all labelled and counted correctly. The batch price was fair for the work."

— Sunita K.

"A singing elephant with the sound box sewn in. I assumed it was not washable. They cleaned around the unit and it still plays, so I was wrong."

— Wesam T.

"My mother's teddy from the sixties. They said in advance the faded patches would not improve and not to expect white, and that honesty is why I used them again."

— Iryna P.
