Clothes that are clean but crushed from the flight only need an iron. Pressing a hung shirt costs AED 9, trousers AED 12 and a dress AED 25. Skipping the wash keeps colours bright, and the pieces are back for your loft room the next day.

Useful for guests who bring their own beach towels and for households nearby on the Palm. Each beach or pool towel is AED 6, a robe AED 16 and a bed sheet AED 18. Linen takes a day; big duvets take two, so time them before check-out.

The walk between the hotel and its private beach, then a night on your feet, is hard on white trainers. Sneakers and formal shoes cost AED 55, sandals and espadrilles AED 45, kids' shoes AED 35. Shoe work needs between two and four days, so hand pairs over early in the trip.

A backpack that has carried sun cream and wet towels all week, or a tote with a make-up mark inside. Backpacks, totes and standard handbags are AED 45 and a duffel or gym bag AED 65. Bags need three to five days, so they suit longer trips.

A popped button, a hem that drags, a zip that gave way on the way to Dubai. Most trouser and dress fixes start at AED 40 and a single button is AED 15. Allow two to three days for sewing work, and mention the date you need the piece in your first message.
