Long swims in the 70 m pool and slow afternoons on the private beach fill a laundry bag fast. Put swimwear, T-shirts, shorts and kaftans in together: 6kg is AED 60, 12kg is AED 99, and every kilo over that adds AED 12. It all comes back folded to the Taj Exotica entrance inside 24 hours.

Dinner at Varq or a relaxed night at Roaring Rabbit is more fun in a shirt free of suitcase lines. Shirts and blouses cost AED 15, trousers or jeans AED 18, a day dress AED 40 and an evening dress AED 65. Anything booked for dry cleaning before noon can be back at Taj Exotica that same evening.

When a garment is already clean and only the creases need to go, pressing on its own costs less. A saree is AED 35, a kandura or thobe AED 12, a hung shirt AED 9 and a three-piece salwar suit AED 25. Pressed pieces return to Taj Exotica within 24 hours, hung and ready to wear.

This mostly serves villas and flats around the Crescent, though families at Taj Exotica sometimes travel with their own beach towels or a child's blanket from home. Robes cost AED 16, beach towels AED 6 and bath mats AED 10. Sheets and towels are a one-day job, while big duvets need two days.

Beach sand settles deep inside trainers, and a long wedding night scuffs formal shoes. Sandals and espadrilles are AED 45, trainers or dress shoes AED 55, boots AED 85 and children's pairs AED 35. Allow between two and four days, so pass them over early in a longer holiday at Taj Exotica.

A tote left beside the Lime Pool Bar or a clutch carried to a reception can pick up sun cream and spilled drinks. Clutches, totes and standard handbags cost AED 45, crossbody bags AED 55 and a medium suitcase AED 130. Plan on three to five days, so send them near the start of your Taj Exotica stay.

Wedding guests often find a blouse or kurta fits a little differently on the day. Saree blouse alterations and saree fall attachment are AED 55 each, kameez length changes AED 40 and lehenga waist adjustments AED 85. Allow two to three days, and tell us the date of your function at Taj Exotica in the first message.

Resort guests will not need this one. It serves people who live around Taj Exotica, in fronds villas and Crescent apartments. A standard rug costs AED 20 a square metre, wool AED 26; curtains are AED 20 a square metre, or AED 25 when lined for blackout. Allow three days.

Celebrations in the two Royale Ballrooms, on the lawn or by the sea leave gowns, sherwanis and wedding abayas needing care. A standard wedding dress is AED 250, a beaded one AED 450, a wedding sherwani AED 70, a wedding abaya AED 50 and a wedding kandura AED 20. A bridal gown needs one to two weeks.

Agencies staging a product launch, a conference or a children's show in the resort's eight meeting rooms or on the lawn sometimes bring a costumed character. Small suits cost AED 200, medium ones AED 230, large AED 250, and heads, gloves or props AED 30 apiece. Expect them back three to five days later, clean and dry.

Children aged 4 to 11 spend their days at the Popsicle Kids Club, and a favourite toy usually tags along to the shallow pool too. A little one is AED 55, a mid-sized one AED 70 and a big one AED 120. It takes two or three days, so hand it over early in the family's time at Taj Exotica.

Resort suites do not need this; Palm Jumeirah homes do. A standard sofa cover costs AED 35, an oversized one AED 40, and cushion slips begin at AED 10. Allow two or three days. Covers go back ironed, fitting snugly over the frame, to any villa or apartment along the Crescent.

A leather jacket packed for cool winter nights on the Palm, or leather shoes worn to a reception, needs a method of its own. A leather jacket costs AED 150, a leather coat or blazer AED 130, and leather shoes or boots AED 180. It takes three to five days, then comes back to Taj Exotica or your home.
