Living in a residence means a full week of clothes, towels from the beach and gym kit. A 12kg bag costs AED 99, a 6kg bag AED 60, and every kilo over is AED 12. It all comes back to Al Hamra Residence folded within 24 hours, ready to go into the wardrobe.

For guests who work from here or commute: shirts are AED 15, trousers AED 18, a two-piece suit AED 50 and a kandura AED 15. Abayas are AED 18, or AED 35 for delicate ones. Collected before noon, they can be back that evening.

If your apartment has a washer, you can still skip the ironing. Shirts on hangers are AED 9, trousers AED 12, a kandura AED 12 and a basic abaya AED 10, returned within 24 hours.

Only for bedding you brought or bought yourself; the apartment's own linen belongs to the property. A comforter cover is AED 25, a duvet AED 50, a mattress protector AED 30, with large duvets back in 48 hours.

Formal shoes for the office and trainers for the gym or the beach run are AED 55 a pair, children's shoes AED 35 and boots AED 85. Allow two to four days; on a long stay that is no trouble.

Families on a long stay often have children in school nearby. School bags are AED 40, laptop bags and briefcases AED 45 and suitcases from AED 85, cleaned in three to five days.

Months away change how clothes fit. Waist changes and trouser hems are AED 40, a child's uniform hem is AED 40 and a name tag AED 30, ready in 48 to 72 hours.

A leather jacket for winter evenings or a well-used wallet or belt. Leather jackets are from AED 150, leather coats and blazers from AED 130, small goods AED 100, over three to five days.
