Golf socks, gym kit, T-shirts and the swimwear from the Residence beach share one load. The small bag holds six kilos for AED 60, the large one twelve for AED 99, and anything heavier is AED 12 a kilo. Folded and back at Al Hamra Village Hotel the next day.

A polo for the course or a shirt for an evening at The Frisky Fox costs AED 15 to clean and press. Jeans are AED 18 and a casual jacket AED 40. Hand them over in the morning and they can be with you again by night.

Weekend bags crush everything. If a shirt is clean, we iron rather than wash it: AED 9 hung, AED 10 folded, and AED 12 for jeans or chinos. Pressed pieces return the following day.

This is for people who live in Al Hamra Village; the hotel's bedding is its own business. Pillow cases cost AED 7, blankets AED 30, duvets AED 50 and towels AED 6, mostly turned round in a day.

Fairway grass and dusty paths turn white trainers grey. A pair of sports shoes is AED 55, boots AED 85 and sandals AED 45. Shoes need between two and four days, which fits a week's stay better than a weekend.

The holdall that does every weekend trip. A duffel or gym bag is AED 65, a backpack AED 45 and a belt AED 40. Bags take three to five days, so they are for guests in for a week or neighbours who live close by.

For Al Hamra residents, many with dogs and cats of their own. A synthetic rug is cleaned at AED 20 per square metre, a woollen one at AED 26, and curtains at AED 20 to AED 25. Allow three days.

For wedding parties who fill the hotel's rooms for a celebration nearby. Bridesmaid dresses are AED 35, the groom's three-piece AED 50, and the bride's gown from AED 250. Gowns take one to two weeks.

For clubs and companies who bring a mascot to golf days or village events. Full costumes cost from AED 200 for small to AED 250 for large, plus AED 30 for each extra piece, and take three to five days.

Children who spend the day at the Residence kids' club bring their toys back sandy. We wash a small one for AED 55, a medium one for AED 70 and a big one for AED 120, and they need a couple of days to dry.

For residents whose sofa covers have seen a lot of pets and children. Each regular cover is AED 35 and a large one AED 40; cushion covers run from AED 10 to AED 20. Ready in two or three days.

A biker jacket for cool winter nights or a belt that has seen better days. Leather jackets are from AED 150, leather coats and blazers from AED 130, and small leather items AED 100. Leather needs three to five days.
