Resort days go through T-shirts, swim shorts and cover-ups quickly, and none of it needs pressing. Fill one bag and pay by weight: a 6kg bag costs AED 60, the 12kg size AED 99, and AED 12 covers each kilo over that. Everything is washed, tumble dried and folded, then handed back at C Central Resort The Palm the next day.

A linen shirt for a steak at C Grill, a dress for sunset drinks on the Palm Frame View Terrace. Each shirt is AED 15 and each pair of trousers AED 18; dresses are AED 40, or AED 65 for eveningwear. Order before 12 noon and your dry cleaning can reach the resort again that evening.

Clothes squashed into a case for a long-haul flight come out clean but crumpled. Pressing alone sorts that: AED 9 buys a shirt steamed onto a hanger, trousers are AED 12 and a dress AED 25. Nothing gets washed, and the pieces are hung back in your wardrobe within 24 hours.

The resort supplies its own linen, so this is for what you carry: a baby's blanket, a travel pillow, a favourite beach towel from home. Each towel costs AED 6 and a robe AED 16, returned within a day. Villa owners on the fronds send duvets too; a large one needs 48 hours.

Salt water and sand are hard on footwear, especially canvas and suede. We brush out the grit, lift the tide marks and refresh the insoles. Sandals and espadrilles cost AED 45, children's pairs AED 35, trainers or smart shoes AED 55. The work needs 2 to 4 days, so book them in on arrival at C Central Resort The Palm.

Beach bags soak up sun oil, and a leather handbag left on a damp lounger by the Mojito Pool Bar can mark. We clean and condition both. Totes and everyday handbags cost AED 45, a crossbody AED 55, and even a small suitcase that rode on a wet luggage trolley can be done for AED 85. It takes 3 to 5 days.

Guests at an outdoor wedding or a birthday dinner sometimes find a hem too long or a waist too loose once they unpack. Shortening a trouser leg or adjusting a waistband costs from AED 40. Allow 48 to 72 hours for the tailor, and put the date of your event in the very first WhatsApp message.

Hotel guests will not need this one. It is for people who live on the Palm, in the villas on the fronds or the flats along the Trunk. A regular carpet is AED 20 a square metre, a wool rug AED 26, and blackout-lined curtains AED 25 a square metre. Allow 3 days for either.

The resort hosts outdoor weddings, and a gown worn by the sea usually has sand in the train and makeup at the neckline by the end of the night. Plain gowns begin at AED 250, heavily beaded ones at AED 450, veils AED 55. The clean takes 7 to 14 days, and we return it to your home address if you have left Dubai by then.

Not a guest service at all: this one serves promoters and event companies whose characters work beach days, store openings and children's parties around the Palm. Costumes are AED 200 small, AED 230 medium or AED 250 large, and heads, gloves and other extras AED 30 apiece. We freshen the inside, clean the fur and dry it slowly over 3 to 5 days.

The bunny that shares your child's pillow also goes to breakfast, the sand and the pool edge. We wash soft toys gently and dry them through so they stay fluffy: AED 55 for a small one, AED 70 medium and AED 120 large. Give us 2 to 3 days, ideally at the start of the trip.

Meant for households on Palm Jumeirah, since resort rooms come with their own furnishings. Removable covers are washed at the right temperature so they do not shrink, then pressed to slip back onto the frame. Regular covers cost AED 35, larger ones AED 40, cushion covers from AED 10, back in 2 to 3 days.

Leather should never go through a normal solvent clean.
