Laundry & Dry Cleaning at The Act Hotel Sharjah.

A three-bedroom suite full of children produces washing every day. Gather it in one bag: a 12kg bag is AED 99, 6kg is AED 60, and every further kilo is AED 12. We sort colours, wash, dry and fold, and return it to The Act Hotel within a day.

White kanduras need a careful hand and embellished abayas even more. A kandura is AED 15 to dry clean, a basic abaya AED 18, a delicate one AED 35, a jalabiya AED 20 and a sirwal AED 30. Collected before noon, they return that evening.

Outfits that only need a sharp press before a family gathering. A bisht is AED 30 to press, a kandura AED 12, a ghutra AED 7, a shimagh AED 10 and a basic abaya AED 10. All returned on hangers within 24 hours.

For residents in Al Majaz and around Khalid Lagoon with their own bedding, never the hotel's. A duvet costs AED 50, a large blanket AED 40, a bed sheet AED 18 and a bath towel AED 6. Large duvets need 48 hours, everything else 24.

Leather sandals worn with a kandura and children's trainers from the lagoon park. Sandals are AED 45 a pair, kids' shoes AED 35, formal shoes AED 55. Allow two to four days, so book them early in a family stay.

An evening clutch used at a wedding or a handbag that travels everywhere. Clutches and standard handbags are AED 45, oversized handbags AED 55 and a wallet AED 35. Ready in three to five days.

A new abaya that touches the floor or a dress bought for a wedding that needs adjusting. Hem shortening, a waist or a sleeve each costs AED 40, ready within 48 to 72 hours and returned to The Act Hotel.

For homes in Al Majaz and nearby areas, not the hotel's furnishings. Wool rugs from a majlis are AED 26 a square metre, other carpets AED 20, curtains AED 20 a square metre and blackout ones AED 25. Three days.

People search for The Act Hotel's wedding hall, and wedding guests stay here. Bridal gowns start at AED 250, beaded ones at AED 450, wedding abayas are AED 50, a wedding kandura AED 20 and flower girl dresses AED 28. Allow seven to fourteen days.

For party planners and entertainers who bring costumed characters to family celebrations around the waterfront. A large mascot is AED 250, medium AED 230, small AED 200, and each accessory AED 30. Three to five days.

Big families travel with lots of soft toys. A large one costs AED 120 to clean, a medium one AED 70 and a small one AED 55, washed gently and back in two to three days, so book on arrival.

For households near the lagoon with removable majlis or sofa covers. Large cushion covers are AED 20, medium AED 15, small AED 10, and a full sofa cover AED 35, or AED 40 if large. Two to three days.

Leather jackets for a winter trip or a leather wallet used every day. A jacket is AED 150 to clean and condition, a coat or blazer AED 130 and small leather goods AED 100. Three to five days.
